Player Characters

Corundum of the Clans Silver and Aluminium

A female dwarf with two reasons to adventure. The first is to escape the severely circumscribed life offered to females in Dwarven society. Dwarves in this setting are closely based on Tolkein's dwarves, which for the student of gender studies means that a) there are very few female dwarves, to the possible extent of a 10:1 m:f ratio; b) they are thus prized, pedestalled, and protected from much beyond their reproductive role; and c) visually you can't tell them from male dwarves except that they have breasts. Cor fled her small Aluminum clan and used that visual similarity to pass for a young male dwarf. She joined human society in a monastery outside Illanon, in the northeast corner of the Ilper basin, and studied there for several years before being kicked out on account of being stumpy, willful, and pursued by her family. She joined a caravan headed south along the Ilper. Played by Amy Swift.

Lucan Wanderer

A half-elf Ranger of Illanon. Lucan grew up in an usually racially integrated elven/human community on a high plateau in the mountains above Illanon. He left to study at a small monastery outside of Illanon, and eventually left that to go home. He returned several days too late, however, and found only the smoldering remains of a town destroyed by mountain orcs. Wandering half-blind from grief, he was eventually taken in by a member of the Rangers of Illanon, a paramilitary order that protects the frontier city. After training well and quickly, he was sent south ostensibly to protect a trade caravan, but with the secondary goal of bringing back intelligence about the Druidic order living in the forests surrounding Telperest, the next large city to the south.

Cedrick "Ceder" Needs

A Delwen (halfling) sorceror. Lying as they do between Correllendor and the Great Valley, the Downs thrived on overland trade from settlements south of the Valley. Nearly a decade ago, the Three Downs role in the midst of trade changed for the worse. Ceder's father, then lord of one of the larger settlements in the "Further Down", fell to the seduction of the human drug trade. The humans used the drug to soften and eventually usurp the power structure in the Downs, in time bringing the Delwen into virtual enslavement. Ceder, then Cedrick Needs, led a revolt against the humans and nearly drove them out before the Correll military stepped in to "restore order" and stop the anti-human violence. The rebellion was crushed and Cedrick, now Ceder, driven into exile. He has wandered north looking to study humanity and eventually find a way to return the Delwen to freedom.

Barg

A half-orc in a tribe of orcs, a studious soul among the rapacious, Barg left his tribe in the mountains above Telperest several years ago. He wandered down into Correllendor hoping to join a human temple of Body so that he might put his great strength and interest in healing to good use. He was rebuffed many times, but was so (stupidly?) persistent and clueless that the priests in Fenneldale eventually took pity on him and began to find him menial tasks and errands that needed doing: gathering herbs, helping the guard, lifting houses and moving them in one piece. ; ) Barg was in Fenneldale when the party gathers there.

Quicksilver (Alakceleb)

A moon-elven...

Parna

Grettir Asmundar

Dizyk of Amon Savol

Matsuko Matsushita

Kasyana

Dearly Departed:

Jason of Tranenfelder

A human priest of the Taoist pursuit of Luck and Fortune. Jason was secretly the disowned son of a southern Correll minor lord. Never the son that his father expected him to be, his father eventually kicked him out and disowned him. He took on a false name and history and has wandered, trying to turn the smile of good fortune into a successful validation of his philosophy. By a turn of this 'good fortune', Jason meets a fellow wanderer, Ceder, on the road north.

Kanton (a.k.a. Grendel)

Kanton is a druid who was caught between the philospphies of two of the Great Oaks. He sided with Karnell when it came to the idea of taking the fight to the city, rather than merely playing a defensive game in the country-side. However, he couldn't stomach many of Karnell's tactics and agreed with Taerin about the possiblity of peaceful coexistance. Kanton's choice of Taerin for mentor speaks to his innermost ideals, even if he ofen failed to meet them.

Kanton was often troubled by these inner-conflicts. Sometimes what he thought of as duty and pragmatism outweighed what he thought was right; as evidenced by Kanton's killing of two Siarran prisoners to be used as a distraction. At other times he risked his own life for higher ideals; such as his rescue of an Anghil diplomat from an Orge and it's giant bird.

Hasha Ide

Wind

Poor Wind was with the group for such a brief time. As the party first scouted the haunted keep that would become their own stronghold, this amnesiac local farmer signed on to help clean the keep. Alas, while the party fought a cabal of necromancers within the Dreaming mirror of the keep, Wind fell into the Dreaming Mists and was lost... since no sign of him was ever found, he might still be out there.
